Hey guys,

My new review is about the lipstick in the limited edition shade Life in Sepia by MAC.

I accidentally found out about this beauty from one of the reviews and the next day went out to hunt. I have to tell you that it is still possible to find this shade, and even if you think it is “too bright/too dark/too dry and too something else” I highly recommend at least to try it out by yourself! You will be pleasantly surprised!

Design. I just have to say a big “thank you” to MAC because I have a lot of their lipsticks and got pretty tired by the black tone cases. Seems that MAC heard our prayers!

Life in Sepia is placed in a carton box that imitates white and pink marble with golden interspersed looks super spring-ish. On the box it is possible to find the information about its ingredients, country of origin, shade’s name and number.

The packaging of the stick of all MAC lipsticks always remains unchanged, this is a bullet-shaped case. This beauty has the same marble-pattern and matte coated case, all together it looks magnificent. On the bottom there is duplicated the information about the shade.

The weight of the product is 3 grams, the lipstick is produced in the USA. All MAC lipsticks have a sweet vanilla fragrance which disappears shortly after applying.

Shade. This shade is something special, you think you have seen something like that before, but I assure you – you’re mistaken!

The shade is pretty hard to describe because, in my opinion, it can change depending on the lighting and your skin tone. I see this shade as a cool undertoned mix between chocolate and caramel.

The shade is pretty universal because with active eyes makeup it can be a good addition to the whole image, while with active lips it can be an accent of the whole makeup. Lovely!

Texture and applying. The shade Life in Sepia is from the Matte lipstick collection, which means that it is not super buttery and can slightly dry your lips (especially in the winter season). It is possible to apply the lipstick from the stick and it does not drag the skin after itself.

The lipstick’s finish is matte but looks more velvety and does not emphasize imperfections. Anyway, I strongly recommend using a prep or lip balm before applying. For me, this shade is less disturbing than usual lipsticks from the Matte lipstick collection.

The product behaves pretty good on the lips, lasts an average of 3-5 hours, does not run away, does not clog into folds, but can leave unnoticeable stains on cups.
