Today I want to tell you about my true friend for this summer, aka Rouge Pur Couture in the shade 17 Rose Dahlia by Yves Saint Laurent. The purchase was utterly spontaneous and even impulsive, but was it worth it? Let’s find it out!
Design. The lipstick is enclosed in a golden carton box, while the packaging is made from heavy golden metal with YSL embossing
GORGEOUS. I have to admit while holding the Rouge Pur Couture, there is no question of the reasons for its price over 40 dollars xDDD.
The YSL logo is also embossed on the stick which is shaped like the classic drop. The product has a sweet (rose?) cosmetics scent that disappears shortly after applying.
The weight of the lipstick is 3.8 grams and it is made in France
Shade and texture. The shade can be described as warm-toned pink with a hint of coral. The lipstick texture is very creamy easily gliding on the lips, and almost melting while applying. Rouge Pur Couture by Yves Saint Laurent has a satin finish, and the formula is semi-opaque, allowing to variate the coverage from medium to full.
Moreover, the lipstick formula is pigmented that even after the drink the pigment still stays there. Otherwise, without a drink or snack break it stays for 3-4 hours as it is, and after it starting gradually fades away (but entirely it can be removed only with the makeup remover).
The formula does not dry out lips, but honestly, I did not notice much hydration either.
Overall, Rouge Pur Couture by Yves Saint Laurent turned out to be the same way I expected it to be: pretty but not perfect. The color is perfect for the summer days, and it will compliment tanned or darker-toned skin. The lipstick texture and finish are delightful, but I did not notice much hydration (at least for myself).
It is my first lipstick from the YSL brand that made me curious about the brand and its lip products.
The product is possible to purchase for around €37 or $40.
